March Family Update & Prayers

  • Thank you for your prayers as Eric traveled to Urbana.  December and January were hard months for our family.  Julian had pneumonia and RSV (a respiratory virus that is extremely contagious for babies) and had to be hospitalized over Christmas.  Eric came back from Urbana a day early but both of us (and Beth’s mom) became very ill just as Julian was able to return home.  We’re grateful for all the support (and food!) we received from our family and church community.

  • Please continue to pray for Beth as she continues this phase of trying new medications for her migraines.  We think we may have found a preventive medication that works for her (after 8 years of searching)!
  • Praise God for the 3 students who put their trust in Christ for the first time after Chapter Retreat in January, and for all the “heart-work” God did that weekend in the students who were already believers.
  • Please pray for our students as:
    • Vision Team does leadership selection for the ’13-’14 school year during the month of March.
    • Our leaders prepare to host 2 large group meetings with special speakers March 21 & 28
    • We recruit for Chapter Camp at Rockbridge Alum Springs in May
    • The Class of 2013 prepares to graduate!

  • Praise God for new gifts from several of our alumni, which has lowered our deficit down to only $8,000.  Please join with us in praying specifically for new support from 4 local churches during 2013, and that we would be able to end our fiscal year (in June) in the black.
  • Praise God for providing the means for Beth and I to attend the Gospel Coalition Conference in Orlando, FL, April 6-10.  Thanks to the generosity of several local churches, all of our expenses for this trip have been covered.  This will be a special time for us to be poured into and encouraged by other pastors and missionaries who are older and wiser than us.  Please pray especially for good health and safety as we travel.

  • Lastly, we are very excited to announce that two of our graduating seniors have just accepted positions to work as campus staff with InterVarsity after they graduate.  Please pray that Christian Holmes and Elizabeth Price would be successful in their fund-development efforts over the summer that they might be able to begin their training this Fall!  We are very excited to see them become our colleagues in the coming months!
